After using Tettra for a bit you may have noticed we support a very specific set of font options.

We support:

  • Bold
  • Italics
  • Strikethrough text
  • Underlined text
  • Bulletted lists
  • Numbered lists
  • Headers (H1, H2 & H3)

We don't support any options to change font colors or styles.  That's because we've very specifically chosen to match Slack's font and color scheme.  We do so to make Tettra feel like an extension of Slack, rather than yet another system to learn and understand.

Those decisions help prevent technology fatigue, avoid additional training and improve adoption.  Despite requests for more color options we feel the advantages of matching Slack and it's simplicity outweigh the benefits of purple letters or Comic Sans font.

Thanks for understanding.  Hopefully this helps you understand how we make decisions and that everything, even what we choose not to do, is thoughtful and intentional.
